Alternate Transportation Policy

  • Loaner cars are available at the sole discretion of Subaru of Sonora
  • A designated number of loaner cars are available to customers who make appointments with our service department
  • We cannot guarantee any specific model of loaner available on any given day
  • Rental vehicles are available at discounted competitive rates


Service Loaner Car Policy


In order to be able to continue to make loaner cars available to our customers, the following policies must be strictly enforced:

  • The driver of the loaner must be at least 21 years of age
  • The driver of the loaner car must be the person who's name appears on the repair order or their spouse
  • You must present a valid driver's license, a valid insurance card, and a valid credit card or debit card for incidental charges
  • We must insist that there be no smoking and no transportation of pets (some are allergic to smoke and pet hair). A detail fee of $150.00 will be charged if there is smoke odor, pet residue or the seats are soiled or stained.
  • A charge of $75.00 per day usage fee will be charged to the driver who fails to return the Loaner Car to the dealership on the agreed upon day or the day the repair is completed
  • Loaner vehicles are never permitted to be taken out of California and are limited to 150 miles per day. A  mileage fee of $.25 will be charged to any driver who exceeds the daily mileage allowance
  • Customers are responsible for the use of fuel while in a loaner and will be charged $7.00 per gallon along with a $10.00 surcharge to replenish to fuel level signed for when vehicle left the dealership; please make sure you are aware of the fuel level before you leave 
  • Parking tickets, toll violations and any other tickets or traffic violations are the sole responsibility of the person signing for the loaner vehicle and will be charged to the credit card left along with a $35.00 processing charge
  • Body damage and/or any other damage to the loaner vehicle while in the customer's possession are the sole responsibility of the customer. You are advised to contact your insurance company in case of damage or accident as your insurance company is the primary carrier. 
  • We cannot be responsible for any items or articles left behind in a loaner car
